Day 365

So this is it. My final post for the year.

When I started I honestly didn't know if I'd see it to the end. Some days have been harder than others and some have been a bit late, (those boys are such a bad influence and my internet connection has proven to be jazz), but here it shot number 365.

I'm going to have a year off and work on a different challenge but I'll definitely do this again. It's been a real experience and has helped me as an artist.

Thank you to people who have stopped by, left comments, encouraged and told me when I could do better.

I'm off to enjoy several glasses of bubbly.

Congratulations to all my fellow 365'ers who've made it to the end and a peaceful New Year to you all.

Day 364

This evening I caught some fast moving traffic. I love the streaks of lights.

Day 363

I finally went home today and there was a package waiting for me. Stitch markers made of LEGO!!!! Genius.

x

Day 362

It's still icy.

Day 361

We braved the outside today.

Day 360

This is out of focus and blurry but deliberately so. I didn't want a crisp and perfect image, I wanted something soft and more abstract. Getting closer to my beloved spirals.

x

Day 359

We didn't leave the house today. A condition of R and I spending Christmas together is that we don't get dressed. I've spent the last day and two halves in my jammies.

Therefore I had to take something that was inside. R's radiator has a screen and this is what you get when you press the camera up against it and shoot. I love the shapes, shadows and the hints of the radiator.

x

Day 358

A different house, a different internet connection. This time there was none so I'm now playing catch-up (at my 3rd and final"hotel" over Yule).

Anyway back to bed No. 2. I spent Christmas Eve to Boxing Day with R and her son Ro. I've had Christmas with her before and it's the best one I've ever had. When she asked me if I'd like to repeat the experience,I jumped at the chance.

This is her light that hangs from her wall. It's a Christmas star or a pentacle. The choice is yours.

Day 357

E and I went to the beach today. Yes it was minus something or other, yes there was snow on the beach, yes it was cold, but we had a fantastic walk.

This guy was trying to find something to eat. He didn't have a lot of success.

x

Day 356

I'm in a strange house at the moment, visiting my friend E for the first time. Consequently I had not internet connection last night so couldn't post.

Day 355

I made my postie chuckle today when I almost kissed him with joy. He brought me TWO packages that I knew were both full of wool that I can knit with over Christmas.

I had to take some shots of it for something else but was really pleased with the results so wanted to post them here.

Day 354

I've loved Angel chimes ever since I was small.

Day 353

I didn't venture very far today. It was too icy under foot.

Day 352

And this was one of the shots I took home when I trudged home at 7.30 this morning.

x

Day 351

OK I know this is a really late post but I was stranded last night at my friend's with no computer to post an image on.

We had snow last night - about 5 inches of the stuff. This was a more artistic shot I took late last night.

Day 349

Before we go any further let me say I'm not anti Consumerfest .... sorry .... Christmas. It's just not my religious festival. I'm honest about that, rather than those dreadful people who don't celebrate the birth of Jesus but still bitch if they have to work a couple of days between Christmas and New Year.

Despite my seemingly bah humbug tendencies. even I like candles and holly. (OK they're electric - blame my housemate).

Day 348

Today's shot is from inside a vase. This reminds me of snow and felt quite fitting considering the very cold feeling there is in the air.

x

Sunday, 13 December 2009

Day 347

This was taken through a garden ornament. I really love the sharp outline and edges it gives the "background" and the hints of colour beyond.

x

Saturday, 12 December 2009

Day 346

My friends have been decorating their Christmas tree. I really liked the reflection in the TV - especially when I made the lights smile.

Day 345

It looked really cosy inside the church in town this afternoon.

Day 344

I've almost finished my Yule knitting!!!!

Then I can make fun stuff for ME

Day 343

I walked past this tree today and was struck by the colour and texture of the wet wood.

Day 342

It's been raining again. (Just for a change) I wanted to take a shot of lights reflected in the wet streets. It seems to be a favourite thing at the moment.

The view from our bird table.

Day 339

I found a fantastic little pub in Walthamstow today. When i move there, it is so going to be my local. It was the first time I'd been there and they were decorating for Christmas. Not only did they give us a warm welcome, they invited my friend and I to decorate the tree (we declined - we were knitting) and passed round the mince pies.

This pub has a really lovely community vibe to it and puts on a lot of art events, craft evenings, pub quizzes and film nights. I can't wait to go. (29 months and counting).

Day 338

It's tough on the streets of Bucks.

Day 337

Taken as I headed into Uni. (Spot the self portrait)

x

Day 336

This piece of knitting uses the colours relevant to my current project. It's made from strips of fabric and I love the fraying texture it gives.

Day 335

I'm afraid it's another shot of what I've been up to at Uni.

I'm currently looking at colour within my work using different types of material to try and make a textural piece. This is just a work in progress and the work in progress will be wildly different. This is just a starting point.
