Day 272

I'm afraid I haven't done much more than Uni today. Get used to it!

This is a detail from one of the sculptures I've had to make and then draw. Would it surprise you to know that spirals were involved?!

Day 271

I oculdn'y post this last night - the internet was playing up.

Anyay, this is a table leg that caught my eye. I like the smiley face in the grain.

Day 270

I've been experimenting with longer exposure shots.

Saturday, 26 September 2009

Day 269

This is a detail from my notice board. Spot the stained glass window inspiration.

Friday, 25 September 2009

Day 268

More beading I'm afraid but I really liked the colours and the reflections.

Thursday, 24 September 2009

Day 267

No Uni work and an outside shot. See. I'm growing.

Wednesday, 23 September 2009

Day 266

More "Heart's Desire" work I'm afraid but that's pretty much all I've done today.

Tuesday, 22 September 2009

Day 265

Today at Uni we got out first project brief.

"Heart's Desire" is pretty much what it says on the tin. We have to collect things and then make models out of them. All materials should be collected and/or inexpensive and the models we make can reflect anything our hearts desire. This can be representations of material things or more abstract which is what I went with. This was a little bit of play and is a work in progress but so far I love this brief.

Day 264

This is my new space at Uni I may well pinch Tim's idea and post a weekly shot on a Thursday so you can see how I progress.

Sunday, 20 September 2009

Day 263

Today has been a bit hectic - trying to finish my knitting project, preparing for the thrill of Uni which starts tomorrow and finishing off homework. The theme for my entire day seems to have been last minute so I guess it's fitting that the photo and indeed this post follow suit.

This is an outside shot of a garden night light holder. It's not quite the way I wanted it and given more time, I may go back to this at some point. However I like the colour and the negative shapes.

Saturday, 19 September 2009

Day 262

There was a band playing in my local this evening.

This is the shot I took of them setting up.

Day 261

I'm sorry this is late. My internet has been acting up. Hopefully the problem has been fixed.

Anyway. This was the photo for yesterday. My button collection. I like the shapes, colours and sizes. It also shows that the jar seems to attract dust!

Thursday, 17 September 2009

Day 260

Well I got outside. Unfortunately it was really overcast today so this was the best of a mediocre lot. I love the electric blue which really lifts it.

Wednesday, 16 September 2009

Day 259

I know I said I'd take a picture of the outside for today's effort - I lied.

This is the gap between the raidiators. I will try and get outside tomorrow.

Tuesday, 15 September 2009

Day 258

I may venture outside tomorrow!

Monday, 14 September 2009

Day 257

Hopefully I'll be starting to learn this soon.

Sunday, 13 September 2009

Day 256

This is the view looking down the stair-well of my new home. I really like the perspective and the reflection within the boundaries.

Saturday, 12 September 2009

Day 255

My first day in my new place - I thought I'd take a photo of the light.

Friday, 11 September 2009

Day 254

After a very long train journey and the fortunate kindness of strangers, I got back home.

Thursday, 10 September 2009

Day 253

My last evening in Darlington ended in my fave place.

This is a photograph from there.

Wednesday, 9 September 2009

Day 252

This is the necklace that belongs my friend at work. It is beautiful and I wonder if she'd notice if I steal it before I leave on Friday. I suspect that she would so I have to settle for a photograph.

Tuesday, 8 September 2009

Day 251

These are a couple of scarves that I've entwined and shot. The red has net sections which allows it to hang slightly differently and to allow other colours to shine through a red haze.

Monday, 7 September 2009

Day 250

This is the detail from one of my favourite bags.

Sunday, 6 September 2009

Day 249

I've had a make and do day today.

In honour of the turn in weather, I made some hedgehog cards for some friends.

Saturday, 5 September 2009

Day 248

The weather has definitely turned.

The drop in temperature may only be by a few degrees but I can feel the difference when it blows across the back of my neck. I love this time of the year. There is the cold smell of the wind and rain, the rich warm odour of decay and earth, and the glorious explosion of colour. Anyone who knows me will be well aware of the fact that I have a leaf fetish. (Leaves, spirals, wool, beef flavoured Monster Munch ... it's a growing list).

Today, whilst I was out and about, I saw these beauties. Yummy.

Friday, 4 September 2009

Day 247

The light within our venue for supper.

Thursday, 3 September 2009

Wednesday, 2 September 2009

Day 245

This is boot is one half if my favourite boots.

They are very old and well loved. They've been EVERYWHERE with me so you can imagine how devastated I was to discover a hole. I'm hoping when I get home, I'll be able to find somewhere to patch them and then I can get another 16 years out of them.

Tuesday, 1 September 2009

Day 244

Today was a better day. I went for a long walk after work which felt fantastic. Of course I took my camera with me and it paid off. As I wandered, I saw so many things that I wanted to capture including this - shattered glass on gravel.

Going out reminded me of 2 things

a) This project is to help me collect material to use for "everyday" work as well as this bog.

b) Getting my arse out of the flat once in a while allows me to see a larger, more picturesque world.
