I love my colleagues. Quite often they'll find something and suggest I take a picture of it for this blog. Sometimes I go with it. Today D handed me this nut and asked me what I thought of it. "Subject!" was my response. "Well actually no.", he said "It came of the shelving unit.". I snapped it anyway. The shelf was still there when I went home.

Thank you sweetie. I liked the simplicity too and you're right about the negative space.
It caught my eye - the light, the shadows, the smoothe exterior and the spiral interior. Somehow it works.
I thought the spirals may bit be obvious - well spotted. I know it shouldn't really work - it's not the most thrilling subject matter and yet it does.
